What a beautiful place. Restaurant and store in one. This a farm to table place. You will get serve paper plates, cup, and silverware. The food is home style cooking. Very good. If you don't want to ready you can always take a prepared meal home.

If you enjoy authentic home-cooked meals, stop at Stono Tomato Shed. Food served hot, wine prices reasonable, staff friendly and helpful. The Friday night crowd seemed to be more locals than tourists - a good sign. Before Cracker Barrel, there was Stono Tomato Shed. (they even have a front porch with seats for waiting). If you life Southern style cooked vegetables - tomato pie, squash casserole, sweet potato casserole, butterbeans, cabbage with carrots and bacon, cucumbers tomato and onions, collards, and zucchini, this is your place.

Awesome locally sourced place. We are lucky to have it here on Johns Island. Food is sure to quench any nostalgic yearning for home style cooking.

I love this place. If you want a good meal at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. The atmosphere gives you a real down home feel. If you go, I hope Gina is your waitress. She has a great sense of humor. I recommend the Tomato Shed Shrimp with grits! It’s a little spicy but very delicious. Make sure you use their restroom and wash your hands (Lol). It is handicapped accessible.

Lucy was our server and she was excellent! The tomato pie is a must! I also enjoyed the grilled shrimp and vegetables!

I ordered via telephone and they had my order ready in about 20 minutes. Pick up was easy and the food was plenteous and delicious! I had the BBQ plate with lima beans and a slice of tomato pie! Yum!

Highly recommended! Great southern tastes and warm southern atmosphere. Ginny was a great server who really made us feel welcomed. The tomato pie and squash casserole were amazing! Nice little gift shop and market within it as well. Overall a great spot for a quick bite to eat.

I actually burnt my tongue cause I was too excited to eat. Boy, the food was very good. It was kind of hot when we went there and the AC wasn't giving too much cool air. But it's fine. And we are in South Carolina anyway. This place is about 5mins away from Angel Oak tree which makes it a perfect stop over to eat after visiting the tree.

What a unique eatery! The staff makes you feel like family, the food is delicious and there are many unique gifts to check out while you wait. There are also fresh baked goodies and frozen entrees to purchase.

Fresh local produce for sale. Comfort cooking for a laid back lunch experience. Shop while you wait for some of the most unique and quality country gifts. A hidden gem for sure!

Food is amazing, especially for the price. I’ve had the beef tips, pulled pork, but I think my favorite is the flounder. I love that there are so many side varieties too. But I always get the tomato pie as one of the sides!Advice would be to make sure to check the hours they are open.

We bought fresh duck breasts for a great price, some pre packaged dinners, sauces, blueberry syrup, all products are from local farm. We also got fresh local large shrimp for 15 a pound.we had lunch there and you get a main with 2 sides and drink for 12. Impressed!

This is one of the best southern coastal cooking places to eat. Page's in Mt.P has nothing on them!!! Crab cakes are better and I have always been a fan of Pages crab cakes...but the tomato shed...takes the prize!!!

Really great taste of local "home" cooking. We could not have been more impressed. Crab cakes... Much better than others we'd had in Charleston. Beef tips with mushrooms were well seasoned and super tender. Pulled pork was a match for any well rated BBQ joint. As if these were not enough the sides were actually even better, from a list that seems to change regularly and had at least 20-25 choices, we tried the salad with oranges, nuts and citrus dressing, the cheddar bacon ranch pasta salad, the mashed potatoes with gravy, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and rice with gravy... Yes each meal comes with 2 sides. The only negative I can say is we all ended up eating way tooo much.

Food just like your grandmother used to make, clean and bright dining area, and friendly, quick service to begin with. They offer put together casseroles for customers to take home and bake which we did and they were delicious. There are also fresh produce and gift areas. It was crowded when we were there but the wait was short and the noise was quite tolerable as we could hear ourselves talk without having to raise our voices.

Absolutely fantastic home-cooked meals! The service was fast and friendly. The food was exceptional and decently priced for the portions you receive. Don't pass this place up.

Cute place with a good market selection. They also had a nice selection of frozen meals and ravioli. I would stop next time on my way to vacation and try more.

This my favorite place to eat on John's Island!! Such a relaxed place and the food is stellar. Home cooking style with a farm to table twist. Cool market and lots of take home dishes too in the gift area. Always a wait to get there well before they close. Only wish they were open on Sundays!!

I love this cafe because it is on John's Island where I went to High School, very quaint with many specialty items for your home or office. Yes, I culled the best tasting tomatoes in the world in the day. Lastly the food is great!! Need to stop or I will be at the Tomato Shed Cafe when they home

This place has the best low country food! The crab cakes were amazing and everything was so delicious! The price was reasonable and there a quaint little grocery shop inside! Only issue is only 1 bathroom.

After we visited Angel Oak Tree, someone recommended this Cafe for lunch. The food was wonderful. We tasted a lot of different sides and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. The waiter was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this place for eating. They also sell things like ornaments, etc.

Love the farm atmosphere. Fresh food, great staff. Love the local salad of the day. A wonderful way to end your day with there desserts.

Straight up one of the best places in the Charleston area for good ol' fashioned southern food. My girlfriends and I go there often after Bible study for lunch. A word of advice... get there early.

Always a wonderful experience! The pie we cooked when I got home to Greenwood and it was perfect. Thank you for still having my favorite treats.

This only goes to 5 stars it would get more I was shocked at the quality of service and food .Probably some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life .it was a casual restuarant which served its food on paper plates .
